We at Lotus Gynecology, Health and Wellness have decided to stop accepting insurance as payment for our services, effective July 15th.
Like most healthcare providers in the United States, the amount of time it requires a physician’s office to verify insurance, obtain approvals and receive payment now outpaces the amount of time we spend with patients. Today, my team and I spend over 160 hours a week dealing with insurance. This change will allow us to use this time to spend with you, caring for your health and well-being.
How will this work?
- Payment for services will be expected at the time of services. Our cash pricing is consistent with other high-quality providers in Austin. We will provide you with a receipt which you will submit to insurance for reimbursement. You will be eligible to use your HSA accounts for payment.
- If you do not have the funds, we can help you with a low-cost credit line to make payments in installments.
- If you are to need surgery, we will work with you to provide clarity and transparency to your costs, something insurance companies have not done for you.
- You will still be able to use your insurance for labs, imaging and hospital fees.
Health care has changed so much in the 15 years I have been practicing, and we have had to learn to change with it.
